CR-V Adds More Standard Tech and New TrailSport Hybrid Trim

What we know!
Heading into the 2026 model year for the ever-popular CR-V, change is in the air, and it's a great change! It begins with an expansion of the already standard tech offered within, including the addition of a larger touchscreen, wireless charging and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Again, this is all standard!
Honda goes on to do even more, adding a TrailSport Hybrid trim that is sure to please. It features not just more rugged styling but improved capability, securing even more the fact that the CR-V is America’s best-selling SUV over the past 25 years. In fact, the new CR-V TrailSport Hybrid is the first Honda SUV to combine the rugged TrailSport design and trail-ready all–terrain tires with the award-winning Honda two-motor hybrid-electric system. And that’s not all! CR-V all-wheel drive models, including the new TrailSport Hybrid, also gain enhanced traction management thus improving its off-road skills.
Planned to arrive at Honda dealers this spring, the 2026 CR-V will boast a lineup including three turbocharged trims: LX, EX and EX-L, plus four hybrid-power trims: SportHybrid, the new TrailSport Hybrid, Sport-L Hybrid and the range-topping Sport Touring Hybrid. It is important to note that the hybrid-electric models are positioned at the top of the lineup and represent more than 50 percent of CR-V sales.
In lauding these new developments, Jessika Laudermilk, assistant vice president of Honda National Auto Sales, said: “Our best-selling Honda CR-V is now even more of an industry benchmark with the addition of a rugged new TrailSport model, which has proven to be incredibly popular on our light trucks. The combination of rugged design elements and capabilities, incredible on-road dynamics and hybrid powertrain makes the Honda CR-V a more compelling SUV than ever before.”
There’s no doubt why the CR-V continues to be a bestseller, and these new features will only add to the appeal. From a 2-inch larger HD touchscreen – 9-inches now – to a standard wireless phone charger and Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, drivers remain truly connected. Trims like the EX-L, Sport-L, TrailSport and Sport Touring boast a 10.2-
inch full-digital instrument display with enhanced traction management off-road on all AWD models.
Other styling touches are found on the TrailSport trim, and they are exclusive through and through. There are also Rugged Continental CrossContact ATR all-terrain tires on the TrailSport and Available Ash Green Metallic paint as well. On the Sport Touring is “Individual” drive mode as well as Google-built in.
The already rugged exterior design of the CR-V is enhanced and updated, complete with more aggressive 18-inch wheel designs, with the new Trail-Sport Hybrid wonderfully bold, made clear in more aggressive front and rear styling, polished stainless steel exhaust finishers and larger 19-inch wheels and tires on the top Sport Hybrid trim.
And to improve off-road performance, CR-V all-wheel drive models, including the new TrailSport Hybrid also benefit from new and enhanced traction control management at speeds before 9 mph.
There is also a more rugged styled front fascia with a silver skid garnish, a piano black rear spoiler, black door handles and window surrounds. Add to that TrailSport badges on the grille and tailgate, and the look is complete!
Overall, the CR-V features a sporty, spacious and comfortable cabin, as well as a responsive 1.5-liter Turbo engine under hood. Other key features include Honda Sensing, which is a comprehensive suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies, as well as available real time All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control and a sophisticated exterior design.
